Santa Paula Airport celebrates 80 years with an airshow on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15, 2010.

Our last airfair was in 2005 which marked the celebration of 75 years.

“This year, we have designed the event encouraging children of all ages to explore and learn about aviation. We want to give back to the children of our community, so event proceeds will benefit the Santa Paula Police & Fire Foundation and the Aviation Museum of Santa Paula,” says event organizer Rowena Mason.

Activities are planned throughout the day kicking off with a parachute jump team; Rob Harrison “The Tumbling Bear” flying extreme aerobatics in his bright yellow Zlin 50LS; Clay Lacy in the only aerobatics Lear 24 Jet at airshows; Sam Mason doing glider aerobatics, Darin Moody, Great Lakes Aerobatics; Seamus McCaughley flying aerobatics in the blue Christian Eagle; Chris Olmsted doing aerobatics in the Pitts; Dog Fight with the Hellcat and the Zero; Ventura County Helicopter Water Drop demonstration; Dan Gray, Legend plus military fly-bys and so much more. There will be vendors and activities for children throughout the day.

Santa Paula Airport is recognized around the world. Even many famous pilots have landed here: Charles Lindberg, Chuck Yeager, Roscoe Turner, Pancho Barnes, to name a few. Throughout the years, many celebrities have also visited and many movies have been filmed at the Santa Paula Airport.
